Design Consultant
My name is James Sikora. You can call me Jim. It's a nickname for James. Nicknames are shortened or abbreviated forms of a longer, more formal name that is harder to say - usually because it has more syllables. Like William and Bill, or Richard and . . . Rich. "James" has 1 syllable you see, and "Jim" has, ...
. . . wait, . . . well this doesn't make any sense at all . . . screw it. Just call me whatever you want.
Anyway, I've been designing hard and soft-goods for the past 8 years. Mainly things like Computer Backpacks, Business Cases, Messenger Bags, Women's Handbags / Purses, Tablet, e-Book Cases, Cell Cases... that sort of thing. Walking around New York City on any given day, theres a good chance you will see several people carrying products I have designed or worked on. Maybe other places too, but I wouldn't know, since I don't live in other places. Although, we did just move to CT. -Will let you know. You can see a list of some of the companies I've worked with on my clients page.
My professional background is mainly Product & Graphic Design, but my creative background is fairly diversified, which is good - since I get to see things from a different angle, or perspective, or whatnot or what have you. I originally attended Pratt Institute and received my BFA in Computer Graphics and Interactive Media, (focusing on 3D Modelling and Animation) back in 2000. I have a strong Traditional Art foundation and love to Illustrate / design characters as well. I also am good with numbers, technical design, photo retouching, and things like that. You can see my traditional work and illustration at www.jimsikora.com.
Unlike many other designers I hear about, I can actually draw too ;) Don't tell them that though... they might get mad. This allows me to communicate ideas in a quick, precise manner before diving into the intensive work.
Send me an email or resume' request if you would like to know more about me. If you really want to be friends, I like cookies, cupcakes, coffee, painting/sculpting, books, and video games.
Thanks for stopping by!
